Apparatus Testing Technician Needed at KECKansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc., (KEC) has an immediate opening for the position ofApparatus Testing Technician. This position will work out of the KEC facility in Osage City, Kansas and is responsible for maintenance and repair of electric apparatus, as well as technical service and support. The professional in this position will maintain and repair all types of utility equipment including, but not limited to, power transformers, instrument transformers, oil circuit reclosers, oil circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches, meters, relays, generators, SCADA, and protective devices. This person will provide advice, assistance, and training to electric cooperatives, employees, and other customers. Applicants must have a high school diploma and be familiar with NESC and OSHA regulations. Applicants must also possess knowledge of the various types of electrical distribution equipment and three years of experience in a related position. Extensive travel in Kansas and nearby states and the ability to frequently lift and carry weight is also required. Must have good communication ability along with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. KEC is a statewide association representing 32 member rural electric cooperatives that provide electric service to 200,000 rural Kansas households. KEC is headquartered in Topeka and provides apparatus testing, sales and service from its Osage City facility. KEC offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Communications InternPosition OverviewThe Communications Intern will work on a variety of hands-on, portfolio building projects that support the rural electric cooperatives in Kansas. Your responsibilities could include such varied and engaging tasks as writing articles and assisting with the redesign and the publication of a monthly magazine, designing print materials, providing event support for youth programs, digital photography assignments, and more. The part-time SPRING internship and full-time SUMMER internship offers flexible start / end dates and will take into account your class schedule.
